EAWOP is the leading organization in Europe when it comes to evidence-informed science and practice on people, work and organizations. For over 30 years, EAWOP has been connecting work and organizational psychologists across Europe to contribute to meaningful and decent work, to improve management and organizations. Beware of scams using the EAWOP name
Please be aware of scams misusing the EAWOP name. These are usually intended to convince you to send money to the scammers, who use our Organization’s name because it sounds legitimate. Some scammers go so far as to create fake messages using the name(s) of EAWOP EC members. Such messages may try to convince the recipient into paying money. This correspondence is fake.

Announcement of the EAWOP Early CAreer RESearchers MEntoring (EAWOP CARES ME) Grant

Concept. EAWOP's mission is to promote and support the development of Work and Organizational Psychology in Europe. One way to do this is to promote development opportunities for early career researchers working on WOP topics.
EAWOP is therefore pleased to announce the “EAWOP Early CAreer RESearchers MEntoring (EAWOP CARES ME) Grant”. This Research Mentoring Grant aims to support early career researchers to develop and implement a new research project, under the guidance and supervision of a more senior researcher (other than their PhD supervisor) based in a different country. The results of the research will be presented at the next EAWOP Congress to be held in Prague in May 2025. The research project can be an extension of the PhD and/or previous research carried out; ongoing projects are also welcome. It must be evident how the research project builds on the early career researcher’s PhD and/or previous research. Moreover, the research topic should be consistent with the main theme of the next 2025 EAWOP Congress, which is “Changing working environments: challenges & opportunities”.
Funding. For the period 2024-2025, 4 awards of maximum 1500€ are proposed. These funds will typically be used to conduct the study and/or reimburse the participation to the Congress. Recipients are expected to submit a short report about the project outcomes, together with an overview of expenses, within one month after the EAWOP Congress for publication in the EAWOP newsletter. Any grant money that will not be used for documented expenses for research and Congress attendance should be returned to the Association. Any member may receive a maximum of one research mentoring grant.
Eligibility. EAWOP members within a period of 5 years from their PhD are eligible to apply. The application should include the following:

  • the completed application form available on the EAWOP webpage;
  • confirmation that PhD was obtained within the last 5 years;
  • a research proposal (maximum 1500 words) which clearly outlines the aims, the methodology, the duration of the research and its intended outcomes. It should also articulate how this research project builds on the applicant’s PhD and/or previous research and how it relates to the theme of the 2025 EAWOP Congress;
  • a recommendation letter from the senior researcher, located in a different country, with whom the applicant wishes to work with;
  • a proposed budget;
  • a 1-page Curriculum vitae with a separate publication list.

Criteria. The following evaluation criteria will be applied: a) scientific merit of the proposal (maximum 1500 words); b) consistency of the proposal with the theme of the 2025 Congress theme; c) academic need and academic benefit, i.e. postdoctoral researchers from countries/departments which have only limited access to research funds are especially encouraged to apply; and d) the research has to be completed by end April 2025.
Application. EAWOP members interested in applying for the EAWOP CARES ME Grant are invited to submit an application to the EAWOP Executive Committee (EC) by the 8th of March, 2024. Please email a signed and dated original application as ONE pdf file including the form, research proposal, one recommendation letter, CV with publication list, confirmation of phd completion date and proposed budget to: monica.molino@unito.it. Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.
